I was able to (at around 8 AM) capture a video of the butterfly on my window. Sorry that it’s a little dark, but as the day progresses, even more light accumulates behind it, making for an even darker butterfly. As of now, WordPress doesn’t like embedded video, so click HERE for it.

UPDATE – 12:09 PM – The butterfly fell off the window and is sitting in a groove below it. Let’s hope it survives.

So richly, brightly, dazzling yellow…

…against the background of a snowy afternoon, the butterfly clings to the window. Moving ever so slightly and ever so slowly, its compound eyes seek the great outdoors, the frigid snowbank of its death.

Now that I’m done being poetic…this butterfly appeared on my window. I have no idea how it got there. So I figured that I’d snap a few shots. Pretty odd, huh? Has that ever happened to you?

And let’s take a look at the Constitution, at the 14th amendmant – “No state shall make or enforce any law which shall abridge the privileges or immunities of citizens of the United States; nor shall any state deprive any person of life, liberty, or property, without due process of law; nor deny to any person within its jurisdiction the equal protection of the laws.”

Kudos to our City Council for officially doing two environmentally friendly things – voting to do a greenhouse gas inventory, which is the first step to becoming a “Cool City,” something they have yet to agree to do, and voting to come up with a strategic plan to make more environmentally conscious decisions! You can see the agenda from this page, and the video and minutes should be coming to that page soon. Yes, yes, I know that I don’t believe in global warming, but I do believe in making environmentally conscious decisions, and if this is how the City Council is going to do it, this is how they’re going to do it.

For those of you who don’t know him, Dr. Ron Paul is a Republican presidential candidate. He opposes world policing, supports the US Constitution, and wants to enstate a flat tax of 0%. He recently appeared on the Tonight Show -

I encourage all of you to watch that video, and read more about Ron Paul on his website here. He may seem unpopular, but he’s raised over $2.5 million and ranks very highly in the straw polls. So what do you think?
